Does anyone notice a problem here? How long ago did this discussion go off topic and how many people have posted without changing the tag? How can I impress upon you all that people who are really cool LEAVE this list because they get tired of this? I took over when we had just lost three top of the line PIC gurus (tjaart, Scott Dattalo, and Roman) because they couldn't deal with the OT's. We got Scott and Roman back after we started using the topic tags. Roman left again after a long time, but we still have Scott and MANY other professionals (who can't afford the time to read misstaged OT's) still on the list. Check this out: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hf47158toCNC/message/3304 Where a guy suggests joining the PICList and the OP says: "I did join that list a while back, and the amount of OT stuff was just staggering. Even after going to the web site and trying to fiddle with options I still ended up with way too much that shouldn't have been on that list at all." It just isn't that hard to look at the tag before you press send. I've been trying to admonish people offlist, but I can only do that after the fact... Ok, so no hard feelings to the people who have already made the mistake, but now I need to post this onlist to catch all the people who apparently will post incorretly in the future. Aparently I haven't been reminding people enough lately? PLEASE TO DO NOT REPLY TO THIS WITHOUT CHANGING THE TAG TO OT. Yes, I'm posting incorrectly, but otherwise I can get to people who have only the PIC topic enabled. If I changed the tag now, people who only subscribe to PIC would, apparently, just keep posting. CHECK THE TAG BEFORE YOU SEND!!! I'm asking nicly... --- James Newton: PICList webmaster/Admin mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 phone http://www.piclist.com/member/JMN-EFP-786 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
