i would like to monitor / log traffic on a i2c bus system, to check if
all the expected traffic is really done on the bus, resp. to locate
wrong values transferred on the bus of a more or less working system
(gets wrong data over i2c then and now).

is there a very simple and cheap solution to do this?

I think of either a pc based solution, using only drivers on the
hardware side to connect the i2c to the pc, doing the rest in software,

or some kind of interface, converting i2c traffic to rs232, to be
monitored with a terminal software.
