I was wondering that too, and grabbed a bipolar motor I have lying around. It was noticable, but not dramatic. Fingers are capable of generating a lot of torque, it seems. The linstepper has a smart microcontroller inside. Can't IT figure things out, or at least be used to figure things out? (I guess it's too late? All designed and produced?)
