Hey All, I was entertaining the idea of using a solid state relay to switch on and off a refrigerator compressor. The model I am looking at is the ubiquitous s101s05v. This thermostat will be controlled by a PIC 18F452. http://rocky.digikey.com/WebLib/Sharp/Web%20Data/s101s05v.pdf The existing relay in the thermostat is rated for 3A, as is this SSR. Does anybody have any recommendations for either (a) a better SSR relay for the job, or (b) an RC snubber design? This model is not equipped with zero-cross circuitry.
