I'm looking into building a high speed optic fiber interface, using the common square connector (found on consumer audio products a lot). I've found Sharp optoelectronics carries parts that will do what I want. EXCEPT they don't have any (censored) data sheets available, and there sight has no way of asking for them. It says (contact salesman), I honestly just want the data sheets, not a salesman asking my application. (I find that extremely anoying especially when you are trying to develope a product and the specs could change and there part could be suddenly all wrong etc. I just want the information to determine if it will work not give the sales guy sales fantasys AHEM.) Anyhow :) moving on I've noticed that a number of consumer grade audio products have 'DTS' stereo RCA jacks on them. What format is this? I couldn't find information on it anywhere. So it's a bit of a mystery too me. My application consists of sending 24bit Digital Audio at high speed (192ksps) and that appears to be a problem with the majority of optical sensors. What is the length of cable limit? Is this based on the sensor power bandwidth or related to scattering in the plastic cable? 10M seems to be a wee bit short. ===== Stephen R.
