Hi all.
I'm thinking of using SPI for the first time, and I have a little conceptual 
block. As I
understand it, the master initiates the data transfer, and when it sends a 
byte, it
also receives a byte. What happens if the slave has nothing to send at the 
time?
Conversely, what if the master wants to get data from the slave but has 
nothing
it wants to send?

(I realize this isn't PIC-specific, but I only tune in to [PIC] threads. If 
this gets moved
to EE or whatever, please let me know!)
