Well, a couple of folks mentioned the proxy servers, and that seems to be to
be a very good way.  Just mosey on over to http://webwarper.net, or
http://www.shadowbrowser.com or http://anonymouse.ws or one of dozens of
others.  Most do seem to mung up your page a bit with ads and the like, but
you do get to test your connectivity from outside.
