Anyway, both have a > massive enterprise userbase I was going to mention C#, but I don't think it has the penetration of even Java just yet. There's a million of them out there. The interesting thing is that the hype and the reality are pretty far apart. Heck, if you believe the rags, the only language anyone ever uses is Java, maybe with a little sprinkling of Perl. But as VS2005 makes its way out, it is hard to see how it can be avoided. As best I can tell, enterprise folks are almost totally VB. Sure there is the occasional outlier, but for the most part I think enterprises see they can take any monkey off the street and turn him into a VB programmer, and that seems to be the driver. But from what I've seen so far, VS2005, especially with C#, has a pretty compelling story to tell. If M$ can get that story out, and I see no reason to suspect they can't, then C# is going to be a hard train to stop. Now, I might just be saying that because I don't like VB. They have made some pretty amazing improvements to VB development, too. --McD -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
