Right, diffused lenses look better for general "light-effects" projects.
I currently have a few RGB 5mm LEDs I got from eBay, but they
are common-cathode, which are harder to use with 5V logic and 12V
power (to the LEDs). You need high-side switches. Better then
with common-anode LEDs that you can switch on the low-side...
