Just tried google.co.nz and it appeared to be down as you said. After a few 
retries (10-20) it came up, but an attempted search gave the following 
response:-

"Google  Error   We're sorry...
... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware 
application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your 
computer or network has been infected..."

I've had poor internet services all day, but I was putting it down to my recent 
ISP changeover from Maxnet/Telecom Jetstream to Maxnet UBS.
