Somewhat lower voltage drop, as you note.
But, they have poor reverse leakage performance. Replacement with 
silicon diodes is low cost and probably a gfood idea. If you really 
value the low forward drop for some reason you could use Schottky 
diodes - also with porer reverse leakage than silicon.
