OK let me start from the beginning

Buy a dimmable electronic l2v halogen lighting transformer

For around $12 (this is the SMPS part).

Rewind the 12 turns or so on the output transformer

Power with mains via a dimmer
(phase control)

Give me $3000 and I will supply you 10 modified units guaranteed and
ready to go
