I just recently purchased a USB to Serial converter for $9 USD and
shipping was included.  Don't know what chip is in it but it works great
on my HP laptop.  Try  www.acortech.com  for this item.

If you are the guy who made the propella clock then I kinda need
to converse with you about that also.
