I'm talking about "time exposed to danger" 1 second exposure at a junction is better than two If I need to overtake I do it fast with little regard for the speed limit, Does anyone who drives a car suggest I overtake a car while looking at the Speedo and spend an extra ten seconds on the wrong side of the road I have never seen anyone doing double the legal speed limit wandering all over the road and talking on the phone I am not saying its safer to speed I am pointing out that "time exposed to danger" is also a factor that the speed kills Lobbyists totally ignore / grasp I lived in Paris in the 1980's and had a motor bike for commuting I had no accidents that I remember I felt safer in Paris on a bike than London, in London over a similar time period I had three accidents that caused me to attend hospital and take time of from work. in each case the car driver said sorry I didn't see you. In Paris speed, priority from the right and the chorus of horns if you where not moving BEFORE the lights changed kept, the incompetent of the road and the remainder on their toes.
