PICCLITE is supposed to be less of a demo and more of a free product. My guess is that be releasing free "crippleware" developers will start projects using the product, get frustrated by the limitations, and then ourchase the full product. There is also a time-restricted (21 day) non-commercial use, demo version of the full package which should compile at full speed, and would allow for more proper comparison.
