I have three variables in the Add symbol link, these being 'main' 'init' and
flashled, they are the names of subroutines.

I uninstalled and installed ver 6.60, but in that version i had nothing in
the Add symbol link listat all. So i went back to ver 7 and have only the
three above, even the default equ's in the original file, (f629temp.asm as
provided by microchip ) as an example

w_temp		EQU     0x20        ; variable used for context saving

are not shown in the Add symbol link list

But the assembles doesn't come up with any errors saying symbols not
defined.

Hmmm!  I've had that before, don't really remember what the answer was 
but I think it has something to do with MPLAB not  understanding my 
variable declaration.
