I was referring to the "art" of digital engineering. I didn't take the OP's use of the word art literally. Reading it again, I can see that interpretation. So, uh, in that case, never mind. I think digital art is great. I just don't think one can be fully skilled in the "art" of digital design without knowledge of PCB layout, which was what I took the OP's statements to mean.
