I just went through the article. What they do is hacking RC cars that have on/off controls, instead of analog controls as the more serious RC cars have. Because I intend to have other types of data going back and forth, I originally thought about not using the RC transmitter at all and instead using a wireless modem to send/receive information to/from the RC car. For example, I will have a camera and a GPS unit on the RC car. That information goes to my laptop, which processes that information and issues locomotion commands to the RC car. Well, I guess I'll have to buy one of these RC cars and try to hack it by myself.
