Hi folks, I read about protecting the power supply with varistors. I googled a little bit and gathered some information, but would like to hear your expert oppinion. I intend to connect this between the AC coming from a 16V step-down transformer. What voltage will I need to select for the MOV ? The capacitor after the rectifier bridge will be rated at 25V, so should it be 25V ? On some specifications I see two values: "M-VARISTOR 14V 22V 250A". What is their meaning ? Also, what current rating should I take into consideration ? A final question, will I need to connect a fuse in series with one AC wire to protect the varistor in case of a surge ? What value should have the fuse for 16V AC ? Thank you for responding !
