If you explain more closely *why* you need to do all this yourself, and what customizations you need to do, it might be easier to find something suitable for you. If you don't absolutly *have* to, why build it all from scratch ? With nothing else known, my personal tip would be to just forget about it and get yourself one of the ready made programmers out there (as a kit or ready built).
