Did I miss something here? I don't know what all the fuss is about. All newbie's go through some sort of initiation here. Lets all get the wheel turning again, be the productive and helpful community that we should be. No offence to you James, I guess sometimes the PICLIST enters a gray area and needs to refocus. -Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu]On Behalf Of Olin Lathrop Sent: Friday, January 07, 2005 3:56 PM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Anyway, sorry Olin, sorry all. > Please forget you saw that. I think you did the right thing, even if unintentional. It's helpful for all to know where your thinking is at. I certainly didn't expect you'd object to anyone saying they don't have time for an attitude problem against Microsoft, and I suspect others would have thought the same. James, your threshold of what is acceptable is pretty far off to one side compared to where most people would put it. I'm not trying to argue that with you since it's your call to make. However, you should at least recognize that it's not always obvious. Therefore publicly pointing out when you don't like something is useful in letting everyone know where the line is. It also lets everyone see there is a uniform standard. Otherwise one can easily get the perception that things are decided on the fly and that treatment may not always be even. You've said in the past that you don't want to embarass anyone, but I don't see how you stating your objection to a comment is an embarassement to anyone. I certainly don't feel embarassed, and I don't see why anyone else in this situation should either. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
