Sent: Saturday, December 25, 2004 9:05 PM > It's now Christmas Day here in NZ - So best wishes for "today" & the new > year to everyone. I was intending to get in first, but Richard beat me to it! Let me second the wish. When it's summer in NZ all days last for 49 hours on earth (not everyone knows that :-) ). In NZ winter, days on earth only last 48 hours. SO it will be Christmas somewhere on earth for the next 48 hours and 5 minutes (at the time I write this). May your next 48 + hours be more than usually peaceful and pleasant ones (is that anonymous and misquoted enough :-) ?) There's not enough peace on earth or goodwill between men even in this relatively quiet time alas. Spare a special thought (and a prayer if you are so inclined) for those who are not going to be sitting down to Turkey & plum pudding or other culturally equivalent festive fare. And for those who are, but who are then going to have to go on patrol in any number of thoroughly disheartening places. And for all those of whatever persuasion who just want to get on with their lives but are unable to.
