Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the dsPIC has enough power to decode 
MP3s?? I saw that one of the winners of the dsPIC contest was a MP3 player 
entry... But I wasn't able to find out if it was using the dsPIC as a decoder 
or did it use one of the other hardware decoders... 

I think that it would be a 'fun' project to try to implement an MP3 decoder in 
dsPIC software... I think that it is probably be possible to decode decent 
MP3 with the dsPIC (maybe around 96-128kbps, 22/44kHz)... Does anyone have 
any ideas on this??
