I'm working on a project using the PIC UART (being driven by a Silicon Systems USB to UART bridge). I'm sending binary commands to the PIC. I'm trying to test it using a Windows terminal emulation program (I've tried Terra Term and HyperTerm) using the ALT-NNN sequence to send non-ASCII codes. It seems to work for codes higher than 0 and lower than 128. But, it does not work for codes of 0 or 128 and up. I just tried hanging a scope on COM2 and using both terminal programs. Hold down ALT, hit numeric key 1, release ALT. I see it on the scope. Hold down ATL, hit numeric key 0, release ATL, nothing on the scope. Anyone know how to get full 8 bit codes out of a Windows terminal, or can suggest a terminal emulator that WILL let me send 8 bit binary codes? THANKS!!!!!
