And multiple parallel execution units is one way Moore's law has kept going
all these years.  Today's Pentium is as fast as it is compared to older
processors not just due to the speed of transistors.  Some of it is due to
architectural differences where the Pentium uses a whole lot more
transistors to do more things in parallel.

"Dual core" may be overt and obvious, but this sort of thing has been going
on more quietly for a long time.
