The complaints are mostly about K-12 education. Part of my claim is that it's a bit silly; K-12 education in MANY subjects is so cursory that singling out the month or three of science that covers evolution (over the 12 years of "science" education), most of which isn't any more detailed than "species are related and we believe that more advanced species have evolved from lower species", and "ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny."
