So far I've created CVSROOT. Haven't figured out much > else yet. Can anyone point to a good CVS tutorial? I played with it over the past couple of days, and it seems to me to be about ten times more complex than RCS. I know once upon a time it was based on RCS, and about a half dozen people on this list have said it is very similar, but the genesis isn't very obvious, other than the -k switch and the fact that the archives have ,v tacked on to their names. In the man page, there are some links to some documentation resources. One of them was pretty good, but I didn't keep the link. You might try googling on cederqvist(!) Not really that much of a tutorial, but a decent enough manual that you can sort of figure it out. There is also quite a bit of badly organized information in info. The main trick seems to be that you need to make a directory for your project. It is real big on directories, at least compared to rcs who doesn't care about such things. Also, they seem to refer to a fairly substantial change in a relatively recent revision. When that happened I don't know, but your RH8 could be a lot different than my FC2. However, the 1.11.17 I have installed does seem to match the Cederqvist document. --McD _______________________________________________ http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
