What real benefit are you getting to using a web-based repository in the long run? > Personally, I use rcs. The reason I use such an old thing is simple - it I've been using RCS for eons and it works very well. In the last few years I've switched to CVS which I think has been a good move, especially for projects with multiple files and most especially for projects with more than one person at a time working on them. Since CVS uses RCS file repositories underneath, it retains all the benefits of RCS, plus adding a fair few valuable features on top. I don't particularly like being locked into a proprietary system, since it makes recovery a bit of a pain, and tends to be limited on platforms to choose from.
