I guess doing it optically is out for some reason - I would have though over that range that a flashing (& modulated?) LED would be straightforward. You may not even need the hall sensor if you have something to reflect off. RP Hi all, Am looking for some ideas to transmit a hall effect output over a distance of 5-6 feet wirelessley. Key Requirement: I need to measure a mximum of 10,000 RPM, but would like to avoid using two pic's if possible (so i do not want a pic to aggregate the pulses and transmit the rpm value over a RF link) so the idea would be to have a dumb transmitter situated with the hall sensor that is activated every time a magnet passes over a hall sensor and a reciever which would This rules out a linx type Tx/Rx so my question.... are there any other RF solutions cheap (3-4 $) that would let me transmit hall sensor pulses and recieve them at a distance of 4-5 feet?
