Hi Russell, In the past, I developed a PIC18F452 bootloader that operated at 460,800 bps on Windows XP and Windows 98 SE. I have a SIIG Quartet PCI serial port card. I don't remember right now if my native motherboard serial ports were able to be used in conjunction with the bootloader, but the SIIG add-on card was able to no sweat. Ask Ken Mardle to check the highest available baud rate in the combo box under the serial ports in Device Manager. I checked my native motherboard serial ports with HyperTerminal and could not get them to open a port at 230,400 bps. With my SIIG card I could open a port with HyperTerminal at 921,600 bps. One solution: Does Ken have a PCI slot free to add a PCI serial port card?
