The argument about MChip vs Atmel v MPS430 v Motorola really
comes down to a simple question- which uP vendor supports me 100%,
always has components, and has 10+ years of logical code progression?
There is only ONE vendor that meets all of these (my) needs, so I always
try my best to stick with 'em.

The fact that PICs consistently radiate less EMC is just a coincidental
advantage, not a deciding factor.
