I had all sorts of problems with my digital sattelite decoder box (Grundig). There are kits (of capacitors) that you can buy to fix them up - I managed to grumble enough to Sky and they eventually gave me a new(recon-probably) box. I wonder if my woes (in 2002) were caused by the same capacitor problems?
