I've emailed you a copy of the firmware hexfile. Program a PIC16F648 with it,
then replace the '628 on the WISP628 with the '648 you programmed.
If anyone else wants to have a go with the new firmware, let me know.

Yep.

Yes - firmware = code on the PIC, hardware = the PCB, software = the Easyprog
driver (PIC_PROG).

I doubt it. I guess the timing for the chargepump is slightly different, but
it doesn't seem to matter.

The host software. I'd have to add the v8, v9 and v10 commands to the
firmware though. ICSP support (RUN mode) is the biggie - the current firmware
locks the chip in PGM mode once it's been programmed. Needless to say, I want
to get that fixed before release.
Also, the Serial Passthrough function has been scrapped - I never used it
anyway (I usually just get a MAX233 and wire it up to the breadboard).

It was more of a "This might be a good idea but probably isn't" type
suggestion. Pic_Prog is pretty good as it is.
