I just wondering if there are any efforts to extend 
the functionality of PICkit1 to program MCUs more
than 14pin. According to AN258, it looks possible
to me to change host GUI software to do this without
even changing the firmware of the PIC16C745 on board.

Is it possible to do this at all? Or PICkit1 is by
design not able to do this? It seems to me US$36
is money well spent if it can do slightly more.
Or there are something out there with better feature
and similar cost.
