Lately I've been wondering whether I'd be better off with a refurbished
or low-end palmtop or even desktop.  The number of things that need to 
be
smaller than a palmtop is relatively small, and damn near everything 
costs
the same, just like rainman always knew it would.  "About $100" gets you
	PIC, MSP430, Rabbit, Motorola, or AVR "development board"
or  Low end B&W palmtop
or  used two-generations old desktop
