> Try clearing your history, shutdown IE then start it up again. Thanks, I tried that very early on but it made no difference Whatever it is has wedged itself into the OS like a nasty little tick. Possibly I can pick up what it is looking at the processes in Task Manager (Applications shows just Explorer) I've found a Zone Alarm log about a program called internet.exe, which appears to be low-risk adware. Although the symptoms found by Google aren't quite what I see they're close enough to pay this file some attention =================================== And visiting a site to get info about internet.exe an XP-looking pop-up telling me my PC may have Critical Errors sent my browser off to some s/w-to-protect-your-PC sales pitch. Geez you people, stay the *$&# out of my computer !!! _______________________________________________ http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
