Hi Bob, I work in both worlds and have been doing so for many years. Most of my=20 customers want some sort of windows software and for most of my own work=20 I use Linux. In fact for my personal needs there is only MPLAB, Visual=20 C++ and possibly Frontpage that make me still use Windows (2K for me).=20 OpenOffice, Mozilla, Thunderbird etc is top quality stuff. Until a few months ago I have done most of my windows application=20 programming in C++ using MFC but have now switched to wxWidgets=20 (http://www.wxwidgets.org/) Its *so* easy to work with, logical built=20 and I wonder why I haven't done the switch years ago. Now its easy to=20 build cross platform stuff and in all easier then to use MFC on one=20 platform!! So one recommendation is to code switch MFC to wxWidgets for those of=20 you doing tour own programs.
