It's within the realm of possible. Mediocre 20mA 5mm red LEDS emit 5000mcd (5cd) or more, and 350mA is 17 times more power, so even a straight scale up would give you about a 90cd part. The Luxeons are NOT "mediocre scale-ups", so 600cd seems possible. It IS interesting from a technical point of view, that a good part of "luxeon technology" is improved packaging and heat dissipation, so that a single LED chip can HAVE 350mA to an 1.5+A run through it without burning up.
