Sorry but I've just got to recommend a "newly found" supplier in the UK. I needed some blue 7 Segment displays and after a bit of searching found a company called "Forge Europa" on the internet. I sent them an email at 11:55am on the 20th August and thought I'd have to wait for a couple of days for a reply but at 12:06pm on the same day received an email back saying the items I'd requested were in stock and there was no problem sending me some samples. Now 11 minutes turnaround for a new customer is what I call customer service !!! I think they now hold the record for being the most efficient supplier I deal with. The products turned up promptly and with appropriate datasheets and have sat on the workbench until yesterday when I had a proper chance to have a play with them. After dazzling myself with the blue 7 segment displays (I really wasn't expecting them to be that bright) I found that I should have really gone for the common anode type rather than the common cathode. Feeling a bit sheepish I sent them an email back at 9:53am this morning and lo and behold had a reply at 10:22am saying it wasn't a problem and replacements would be sent out. I am now reeling from shock !!! I've had some good uk suppliers in the past (Crownhill, Greenweld and Rapid electronics spring to mind) but Forge Europa now top my list. If only every supplier could be like this - it would make life a whole lot easier when prototyping. Anyway - rant over - if you're in the market for some LED displays (they do an interesting range to say the least) then have a look at their website http://www.forge-europa.co.uk/home.html I'm not affiliated in any way to the company - I just believe that good customer service should be rewarded by more customers. Thanks for listening Dom _______________________________________________ http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
