Hi Robert, Ok, thanks very much for sharing your experiences. It is interesting -- I never experienced the problems you have experienced. I have never heard about this or remember seeing anything in MSDN regarding this. That of course does not mean it is not out there somewhere. If you ever come across any documentation regarding faulty Windows 98 buffer management I would be interested in seeing a link. Have you ever tried a newer Windows OS like Windows XP? Did you see the same problems? Do you think it might have been poor serial card device drivers instead of the OS? Well, once again, thanks for your time.
