I'm certain someone has, although I would tend to think 2 kHz vibration
(as Lawrence indicates mine has) might be a bit high.  I can't say I've
really done much research, though, and I don't know too many ladies
who would be that free with information of that sort.

I bet you could.  It's worth noting that my Sonicare has no mechanical
linkage between the motor/vibrating part and the brush head; it all
seems transmitted by magnet (I think; again, back the wife frowning on
disassemblage of new, expensive items).  But a Crest spinbrush,  or
similar, OTOH, would probably be quite easy to modify.  It may not be
quite so waterproof though, since I think it uses replacable alkaline
batteries.
