It's worth noting that my Sonicare has no mechanical linkage between the motor/vibrating part and the brush head; it all seems transmitted by magnet (I think; again, back the wife frowning on disassemblage of new, expensive items). But a Crest spinbrush, or similar, OTOH, would probably be quite easy to modify. It may not be quite so waterproof though, since I think it uses replacable alkaline batteries.
