Yes, I believe "Corona" was the project name for the first set of these. If I remember rightly the film "Ice Station Zebra" was based around recovering a film canister that went astray. I think they were usually recovered in the air by an aircraft with a big "V" shaped catching arm on the front, snaring the parachute cord.
