It took about 12 seconds to build with "make", and about 35 seconds to build with MPLAB. This is on a relatively slow system running Win 98. Moving the same project over to a faster machine running XP, the difference becomes about 3 seconds vs. 5 seconds. Percentage-wise, MPLAB appears to incur a huge penalty in project building. -- John W.
