Why? The F716 is bascially the same chip, with Timer1 and Timer2, plus ECCP. I'd have to go over the datasheet closer, but in most PICs, those three peripherals are initialized to zero. Stack depth is the same, just limit yourself to half the program memory. I suppose the F716 starts its GP ram at 20h and the C71 at 1Ch, but if you define your variables at the start of your code, that shouldn't be too tough to change. Mike H.
