I found this fascinating thread that describes modifying a CDROM motor for uase in RC aircraft. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=127606 Although I am not into RC, the idea of being able to use a compact CDROM motor seems very interesting. Now, though the pages are very descriptive about the motor itself, most of the folks on that forum seem to use a readymade electronic speed control (ESC) / motor driver module. I wonder if anyone has ever attempted to design one's own? How complex would it have to be if no direction, or speed control is required? In short, how simple can a PIC based DC brushless controller be? There are some vectors to DIY controllers here http://rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140454&page=1, but I'm hoping the design could be simpler for basic, fixed speed operation. Any advice or pointers would be highly appreciated! Regards, Anand ---------------------------------------- My Inbox is protected by SPAMfighter 1024 spam mails have been blocked so far.
