We are all engineers and we can search, find references, simulate, prototype and do both the analog front end and the FPGA stufff but for a open source project it makes more sense to look for someone that can do it faster and better because of bigger experience in the specific area. It is a matter of spending 10 hours with the right person or 100 with less experienced people. The most time consuming part on the project is protocol, communications and PC program and we are making good progres there. I will start to prototype a input circuit and see how it goes. But I would still preffer someone with more hands on high speed analog experience....
