I was unable go get into any of the archives: http://www.piclist.com/techref/postbot.asp http://www.infosite.com/~jkeyzer/piclist/index.html http://www.iversoft.com/piclist/ A search of my own personal piclist archive didn't yield a result. Please forgive me is this question has been asked before. I was recently working with a vendor that supplied equipment where the small LCD backlit display would periodically either go dead or display garbage characters. After trying replacement displays, controller boards for the display, and power to the unit, the vendor had me put a Ferrite block around the 5" ribbon cable going to the display. It, of course, didn't have any affect. My naive questions: Is the vendor just "grasping at straws"? Has anyone had success using RF suppressors on short ribbon cables leading to LCD displays?
