They concentrated a lot on the development boards like the PICkit1 and PICdem2, both of which I subsequently bought. I enrolled in (and paid for) a 2-day "Introduction to 18-series PICs" workshop, but a few days before it was due they contacted me to say it had been cancelled due to low numbers. I got the money back, but didn't get the discount voucher for development tools that would have been issued at the event :-( I ended up paying full price for an ICD2 ). I checked just now, and if you go to the Microchip "Seminars and Workshops" part of their web site, and select Europe, it says "There are currently no European seminars at this time." Which is not only bad grammar (tautology) but is a right pain! I'd love to go to Masters, but the $1000 for the event plus about the same in transport (Phoenix isn't on anyone's major routes from London - if it had been in New York or Los Angeles the flight cost would have been about a third of this) makes it too expensive for something that isn't my profession. And I'm currently self-unemployed anyway! Not to mention the amount of time flying - I think I'd combine it with a visit to see friends in New York and/or California, to make the 30-odd hours in airports and aircraft worth while.
