I've just spent the best part of a month poring over assembly listings and GAL PLD logic equations to try and find out why my 6502 computer was producing incorrect answers and randomly jumping off into never-never land. I swapped the CPU already, but I never thought that both the original and the replacement would be bad. Just for grins, I swapped the CPU for one from a much newer batch. Well, whadd'ya know, it booted *and* passed the testvectors. It's now running EhBASIC and is earmarked for a few upgrades - the first being an SPO256-based speech synthesiser, then an IDE mass-storage interface. I only hope I don't run out of IC sockets before I finish it... Then again, I suppose having all of your development tools die at the same time really does take the biscuit.
