I have had some incredibly helpful tech reps slide me a few products when it was obvious that 1 or 2 samples would not only let me evaluate the product, but also get my project finished... and then they usually send 10 just so I don't bother them for 1 or 2 more. One thing that they often request is my UPS number so they don't have to pay shipping. My guess is that no one in their organization pays attention to where product goes, but they have to bill shipping expenses to a project code.
